One night her dad got a little to drunk and beat Lori for no reason. Lori finds the house phone and calls her mom but her dad toke it and threw it her mom heard Lori scream so she got in her car and called the police she drove to Loris Dave's house, Lori's dad. Dave started beating her mom. Her mom found a knife and stabbed him in the arm. The police showed up and arrested Laurie, her mom. Her dad go in an ambulance. Lori was hiding in her room so no one found her until the morning. They all went to court and Lori's father got her. So she moves all of her stuff to her dads and starts a new school even though summers in like 3 weeks. She starts school and meets this boy Xander, he's a sweet heart. After a few days of dating him she spends the night at his house because her dad's not home. She hasn't ate or anything so Xander helps her out and let's her stay there.
