It had her father's face, but with big, drooling sharp teeth instead of the bright white rows that she was so used to. Thick tufts of dark hair spouted all over its body in messy patches. It's hands and feet were bigger than Eva's head, and yellow claws stabbed out of each stubby finger. It crouched unnaturally and ran after her, bounding through the snow like a dog, eyes glowing green and casting a deformed shadow.
She dreamt of dark, powder coated woods and pine trees with faces, of running from claws that reached out for her with a frightening sort of desperation.
She tossed and turned in her car seat all night, racing through the forest in her head, away from an unseen monster.
