In this society, twice a year they have this thing they do called the slimming out ceremony. This slimming out ceremony is to help the city slim out, like in the name. Though the cities that do this ceremony are the biggest so why do they do this? They only take out ten people for the whole year. Five for every half year. Why are the people that control the city really doing this? On the day of the slimming out ceremony they kill five people. Everybody huddles around their TV waiting for their name not to be chosen. They think these big cities they won't get chosen, but that's not true. Beware of the slimming ceremony because when you get chosen, Insanity. Is. A. Pleasure.Complete

Extract from Chapter 1: He unsheathes his blade, and I suddenly wish that he'd go back to poking me. He's going to cut me while I can't move? To torture me? I start to panic again. "No, no, no." I yank on the restraints, and the rope bites into my skin. I pull and pull and try to shuffle away from him. He presses the blade against my neck, and I freeze. "Fearful," he says. I catch a glimpse of his freakishly long canines. The edge of the blade presses on my skin, just enough not to draw blood.Complete

Hopefully they are able to help me, and not turn me away just because I'm a human. "Hi, um, could you tell me where the front desk is?" The man whose back was facing towards me stiffened. "I think I'm a little..." The man turned toward me so quickly it made my heartbeat waver. His deep blue eyes pierced into my brown ones and called out to me. His jawline was chiseled to perfection, lips parted slightly in awe. Every feature of his face was meticulously handcrafted by God. I never thought I could find a wolf so elegant. He was...beautiful. Something in the air shifted. I could feel it in my bones. "...lost," I finished my sentence after a brief pause. No one answered me. Did I say something wrong? I look between the three of them and see that the two men behind the man who was staring so intently at me were looking between me and him. "Mate."

But when he finds himself suddenly "freed" by a radical clones' rights group, none of that matters. Alone, far from his beloved Games and fans, nothing he's trained for can help him cope. A metal poisoning during my mom's pregnancy stumped my growth and made me look different. To not get bullied too much, I had to learn martial arts, which only isolated me more. Well at least I thought so; until my communication system told me, that there is an alien AI living inside of me and I am now the empress of an extinct civilization and if I want to safeguard at least the rest of their knowledge, I have to get off my butt and take action and make a few friends on the way.
