His entire life, literally, Ha Ru has known nothing except to serve Prince Baek Gyeong and do as he orders. Although the two are far from best friends, given the Prince's personality, neither holds animosity nor discomfort against each other. Ha Ru is content with his life as the Prince's personal guard and closest thing to a friend, though this changes when the King dies and Gyeong is not crowned as the next ruler.

Determined to change this, Gyeong decides to seduce and marry Eun Dan Oh, the daughter of the official who has the power to do so, using Ha Ru's help. However, the more Ha Ru becomes involved in these plans, the more he feels sorry for the young noblewoman, until those feelings of guilt turn into something more.
