I was home alone when I heard the window glass smash below me on the second floor. I went to investigate but the lights were cut. I grabbed the bat by my door and went downstairs. Something swift passed me leaving a cool breeze by my neck.
There it was again, I swung my bat and got a good hit on something tough. I saw a human silhouette before me. "GET OUT my house or I'm swinging". Trying to adjust to the darkness I looked closer noticing red glowing eyes and bright white pointy teeth. It leaped straight at me and I didn't remember anything after that....

Because we weren't human, and we didn't live in the darkness, and so we were attacked from both sides, always having to look for an escape route. So I snapped, and instead of running towards the door like I knew I should have, I threw a punch that was supposed to land in his rib cage, hopefully breaking a few and causing enough internal damage that he would be down for a while. But that didn't happen, because once that punch was thrown my attacker grabbed my wrist and threw me against the wall and stabbed me with a stake that ripped right through my red skull kitty tank top and cut into the flesh that covered my heart. That was when I heard the slow chuckle and that annoying voice I knew all too well say, "Not bad, but you're still dead."Complete
