Janisse Elizabeth Kale: The only daughter to the Kale family, who is quite known for her medical skills. Of course like her father George Kale, she's a medic. Her family owns one of the biggest medical clinics during the Civil War. While many soldiers were wounded by the British, Janisse and her father would be on the front line serving their nation.

On her mission to save the nation, she finds herself slowly drawing toward Lieutenant Layne.

Lieutenant Layne serves on the front line next to his father General Layne. He's a head strong fellow who goes with what he thinks is right. Everyone always gave him his way, so when it comes to Janisse going against him, it intrigues him. There was something about her that he couldn't pin down, the war, the chaos, but somehow he managed to find something soothing in the midst of all of it.

It's a long and brutal journey for the both of them. But how does war change a man and a woman who strives to be independent. Can they possibly find an answer in this chaotic world, as destiny brings them together
