The doctors showed her screenings of something mutating on her heart. At most, she has one year to live, unless she can find a cure. For her own sake, her life would continue on, especially now that she had become enlightened by Claude's presence. However, it doesn't take him long to figure out something is wrong with his new instructor. Claude promises to stand by her side, and help her. Now Edelgard herself has admitted to her own feelings for Byleth, and she finds herself tumbling indecisively with no way out. Soon, she will have to make a decision...one that will either compromise her ideals and Edelgard, or the emotions she longed to feel with Claude.
