Completed one chapter story
This is just a short story I had to write for an English project, somewhat based upon Edgar Allen Poe's gothic literature.
This story is told from the perspective of death, who voices opinions throughout the story which is being told to the traveler.
Aurelia and Orion meet and fall in love, completely different yet similar. Their prospects are shadowed by Aurelia's father, who is a madman who will stop at nothing to control his legacy...

*COMPLETED* My head bowed in a heavy mannor, not in respect, but in trepidation. I discern his unwavering gaze over my ill silhouette. "Look at me." I opened my eyes, though it made no difference. Black is still black, all I am left with are my four senses. He will kill me if I don't look. He will kill me if I do. He will look into my sightless eyes and see my futile existence isn't worth living. He will kill me, and he will be doing the pack a justice by it. She moved with a certain thoughtfulness about her. Every step was placed gently. Whether this is to disappear from those around her or to protect the wounds they inflicted was unknown but, either were understandable for someone in her position. To have and hide an abusive mate was unbearable. Especially when it's him you're hiding it from. Omega had been beaten into her until she had forgotten her own name. Finding out her tormentor was her mate broke her. With the constant inhumanities of her life, she believed herself worthless. So worthless she didn't believe she deserved her mate. *Rejected at First Sight* Spin-off series (By GirlWhoChasesRainbow) 🌶 "Oomph!" The sound rushed out of my mouth as the door opened before I could reach the handle and my body hits a wall. I stumble backwards slightly before a hand wraps around my waist, keeping me from falling. Looking up, I realize this wasn't a wall, but instead a very attractive male. A very messy, but definitely sexy, mop of black hair sat on top of his head. When I looked closer, I realized that it was a deep shade of brown that was probably often mistaken for black. My gaze traveled to his eyes, where I found two deep ocean blue eyes looking at me. I kept going further down to his too crooked nose to be called straight, which I assumed came from too many fights. His skin was tanned, but an olive tone suggested he had a natural darker complexion to begin with. My eyes finally found his pink, very plump lips which were resting slightly open. His lips jerked up into a lopsided sneer as his hand snapped back to his side. The sudden movement left my back cold, as if his palm had been a source of warmth. "You've got to be kidding me!" His tone dripped with disgust. My eyes turned to questioning as I looked back up into his eyes. I brought my hand up to rub my nose, squinting at the slight pain. "What the hell." He grumbled. "I, Jay Julian, reject you as my mate." He, or Jay, said with venom lacing his voice. He quickly turned and walked down the now vacant hallway with no glance back. Rejection? What the hell was that? Was it some sort of local lingo? How did I get rejected on my first day? The first person I make eye contact with at this school rejects me. I guess that's how this school works, if the hottest boy in school rejects you, you're a nobody. If that's how this small town school worked, then I was screwed. So much for making friends, or mates, or whatever they call people in this place. I shake those ocean blue eyes out of my head and continue into the office to start my new life.Concluida

His eyebrows furrowed as his eyes softened realising what happened. Just as quick as it came, it vanished and he was back with the icy look in his eye. The one he had when we first met. For a moment, I was afraid of him going back to his old self before dismissing that thought and focusing on my missing newborn son. Don't worry, I'm coming for you, my little bubba...
