{GOING UNDER REBOOT, THIS NOTICE WILL BE GONE WHEN IT'S FINISHED}
The year is 2022, and the reality of the Full Dive System, taking the name of "Nerve Gear", is finally possible. The Full Dive System is the newest technology to hit the markets of Tokyo, Japan, and many gamers, new to MMO RPG, or old veterans playing on their parent's laptops, the city is in a fuss to get their hands on the device. And more importantly, the newest game, A sword dueling adventure game claiming the title of "Sword Art Online".
But on opening game day, just a day after the Beta Test, the game takes a staggering turn to darkness.
Kayaba Akihiko, the creator of Sword Art Online, has doomed the players. He's rigged the game, and it only took the tiny removal of a very large feature.
The Log Out button.
Every single one of the players is trapped in the game, until all the players die, or someone makes it to floor 100. May the latter come true.
Kumori Jacobs, 16, is one of the players stuck in the technological sword world. After running away from the shock of her mother's death, Kumori turns to games, trying to drown her sorrows in gaining EXP and sword skills.
Then she meets Ryu Otake, a seventeen year old blonde sweetheart that is an Ex-Beta tester. Buddying up almost immediately, they discover that the Beta is nothing like the real game, and they must fight their way out or die with microwaved brains.
Relationships are tested in this deathly sword game, parties are made, and others crumble. Betrayal stacks up, trust wipes away, and love turns off and on like a light switch.
How will Kumori escape, with nothing but a sword at her hip and the love she shares for her friends, along with her sanity? How can she escape the bloody life, where suicide is a casualty, and life is as special as a cockroach's?
The rules are simple: Scavenge, Slay, Survive.
