Thousands of years ago, a convoy of colony ships led by Admiral Benson of the Legaia mysteriously landed on the apocalyptic world of Criterion. Now, in the year 8592, a group of students from Criterion High embark on a journey of adventure, discovery and romance, making friends and enemies along the way, to rediscover the lost landing site of the Legaia and its companion ships, in an attempt to contact the Dominion. Will they succeed in finding their way home? Will they be completely annihilated on their quest? Who could they trust and who will betray them in the end?

Alice is a xenoarchaeologist, her passion in life has always been the study of ancient cultures, and now she has the opportunity to study the most ancient one of them all. The very one that modern Human civilization is now built on. Alice and her boyfriend accepted a posting on the famous and ancient ship, the U.S.S.A Umbra.
