A West African medicine man, troubled by a dark past, travels to a quiet town in the United States to complete a job. An enigma in his clan, he is estranged from all and has had no reason to truly live for a long time.
Things do not seem so quiet in this town after all, especially when supernatural activities become rampant and people pop up dead in the strangest ways. He reluctantly teams up with a cop and a traumatized but determined teacher to solve the murders and bring a rogue cult to "justice".
The Helix cult has big plans and is not about to halt them because of a threat from just one occultist, a police officer and a simple teacher. Their power is unique, tremendous and very malignant, coating the town and the minds of some of its people in a dark haze.
