Peeta Mellark is a depressed boy with a touch of coldness. Katniss Everdeen is an alive girl with a passion of life. When Peeta sends Katniss a letter, seeking for someone to make him feel like he's not alone, she replies the next day. Through their surprise, they become pen pals, writing each day. They fall in love through these letters as Katniss teaches Peeta that life is worth living, that opposites aren't a bad thing and that loneliness is the cause of depression.
