Magic is often seen as fictitious and mythical, a term applied to anything science can't describe, nothing more than a thing from fairy tales. Only a few however know the truth and know of the dangers and responsibilities it brings with it, as it was not meant for human hands. 

After discovering magic in a world who discarded it as just a myth, Jacob uses it with his vigilante persona to help his city.  During his learning curve as an arcanist, he finds out that he is not the only one who discovered the magical arts, and quickly finds himself with a strangely familiar girl Valerie who has a similar affinity. Together they unravel the magical world which blends into everything modern society has to offer, while discovering that far more diabolical dangers are creeping from the shadows.
