When Steve and the Avengers find you single handily taking down one of their targets, they invite you to live with them. You only agree because Steve is there and you want to be with your brother. You don't know Bucky is alive until you get to the tower. Bucky's been in love with you since the 40's. He would constantly beg Steve to let him marry you. Steve would refuse. You admit that you wouldn't mind being with Bucky since you've always felt something for him back. The only thing standing in yours and Bucky's way is, well, Steve. So what else can you do besides have a secret relationship and hope Steve doesn't find out. I had one purpose; to keep HYDRA's best asset in line. Their violent and skilled puppet assassin known only as The Winter Soldier. The Fist of HYDRA. HYDRA stole me because they wanted a new way to control him. In turn, they used him as a threat to keep me in line. I shouldn't have fallen in love with him but I did. I shouldn't have left him behind but I did. I should have known that buried deep inside him was the man he had once been but I didn't. I should have realized it was that man that broke through long enough to help me escape but I didn't. I put that part of my past behind me and I moved on. I didn't want to fall in love again but I did. I fell in love with a man driven to do what was right. A man who was the embodiment of strength, protection and of the enduring spirit. A man out of time and haunted by what he had lost but trying to make the best of it. I didn't know that my past and my present were on a collision course but they were. I didn't know that the only two men I had ever loved were intricately connected to one another. Now we have to navigate a complicated obstacle course of emotions.

You ,Cap, and Bucky go way back, like 1940s way back. After a run in with Hydra you were experimented on and frozen. Before SHIELD fell you were found in storage by Peggy. Nick vowed to find a way to awaken you with out killing you. Well that time has come and you are awakened in a new time.
