In this sequel to Modern Legends, it's been one year since the events involving Ganondorf's return, and Alex has spent that year trying to forget it and just live a normal life. Not that it's been difficult; what with his best friends, his uncertain relationship with Celia, sophomore year starting, and a new band class, his plate has been pretty full. But his friends aren't nearly as happy as he is to forget, and when a bet goes awry, the perfect, normal world Alex has been living in goes to pieces. Suddenly, Alex and his friends are whisked back to ancient Hyrule, to a time when heroes still existed.
Or at least, used to. Hyrule is in a time of peace, right after a hero has been through. But when evil begins stirring again, and no new hero arrives, Alex must again play the role of hero, in order to save this ancient kingdom of heroes from certain destruction.
