The fundamental measure of a man's stay in this world is the lifetime he gets to spend on this planet. The life we get is a gift of nature and is aimed at giving us the opportunity to avail all the benefits that the creator has offered us. The beauty of nature, the scenery, the fruit that changes color and taste with geographical displacements, the variety of flowers, the vastness of the skies and the depths of the oceans and whatever is between them are all for human beings to avail and cherish and enjoy. This life is thus a responsibility. To live it in happiness and contentment is a duty and to shun any thoughts of disappointment is to show gratitude to the creator for giving us the opportunity to have all this at our disposal. The creator, whoever one believes him to be, undoubtedly loves his creation (You). To love one's own self is in fact the acknowledgement of the gift of life given to us.

There are a lot of things you don't really think about until they happen to you. Take rape, for instance. I always thought, "That won't happen to me. I have a boyfriend. I trust him.
