Anneliese Raymond had a lovely relationship between her parents and her; however, her father suddenly disappeared when she needed him the most. No letter, no call, no explanation whatsoever.

She tried desperately to find him, and hatred grew in her as time passed. Then suddenly, as if the heavens were helping her, she witnessed her father entering an apartment complex with his new family.

This pushed Anneliese to confront him but not in person; instead, through letters. Sixteen letters, to be exact, to signify the years he wasn't there for her.
