He was ridiculed for it, after years of it he decided he'd cover it up with an eyepatch.
Katsuki Bakugo went 15 years alone, watching everyone he knew find their soulmate. Over his left eye was his mark, he was usually confident but that was one thing he didn't like about himself, people used to pick on him for it too, so he wore an eye patch over it.

The design of the mark depends on both the soulmates eyes and quirk. The color is a exact replica of their soulmates eye color. And the shape and idea of the mark is dependent on their quirk. The amount of detail the mark has shows how good their mental health is. Say someone has a extremely breathtaking mark, absolutely stunning. Their soulmate is in mental agony. The more beautiful the mark, the more hurt their soulmate is. Not only will they have a mark connecting them to their soulmate, they can also feel each other's pain. Once both people turn 17, which can take years saying their could be a large age gap, they both can feel the physical pain something could inflict on them.
