A world much like Earth called Carthus is ravaged by a genetic virus created when two bloodlines merge. The virus affects the brain, giving the infected special powerful psychic powers, but also causing them to become extremely aggressive volatile, and deadly towards anything that moves, alive, dead, or infected. The virus is transmitted only through brain waves, and because of such, infects the entire population of 36 billion within a mere five hours. A lone scientist, Nathan, who was working on a failed experiment that functioned similar to the symptoms of the virus (the psychic abilities portion), is able to make a breakthrough and save the remaining survivors on the planet.
