Christmas is the most exciting day of the year for twenty something year old Maya Stevens; until she misses her flight home two days before Christmas. When she runs into Jacob - boy she once had a crush on (that has never exactly gone away) in the big city, she wonders if it is purely a coincidence that her missed flight has led her to this exact place. Until of course, she realises he hates Christmas and everything to do with it. Although this holiday season is the opposite of how Maya wished to spend it, twenty four hours with Jacob is sure to include running around New York City under Christmas lights with a boy who wishes to deny any trace of the festivities.

Naomi has always dreaded the holiday season but when she finds herself staying with the handsome stranger and his family that accidentally stole her Christmas tree through the holidays, she just might end up taking a large sip from that cup of holiday cheer that brightens up everyone's Decembers. --------- "You've never kissed anyone under the mistletoe then?" he asks, keeping his voice low. There are literal sparks flying in the air between us right now- I knew I was attracted to him at the tree farm but now that I've gotten to actually know him a bit better, and now that he's standing so close to me, that attraction has seemed to intensify. I give him a tight smile and shake my head. "Well, I think it's probably bad luck to break tradition...." ---------- December Writing Challenge 2020 piece! ~updating daily through December~ (photo of challenge and more info can be found in the conversations section of my profile!)
