A sort of endgame fix-it, except I think I just make it worse and sadder. (Tony and Natasha Romanoff live, don't ask me how).

After the battle at the compound, everything seems fine. Everyone is back, Thanos is gone for good, things are at peace. But a lot can change in five years, and it really shows. After coming back, Peter Parker tries his best to just resume normal life, but he can't. The world moved on without him, and he gets left behind with scars from battles he shouldn't have had to fight.

After Tony fighting so hard to bring Peter back, he never even considered that he might not want to come back at all.

The Weight of Grief by Kale_Kabbage
12 parts Complete Mature
It's almost funny. How grief sneaks up on you. One second, you're fine; you're coping well and then it hits you like a bullet, tearing right through your heart, almost killing you on the spot. Grief is a monster that lies dormant in the darkest quarters of your mind, growing stronger and stronger until you can't fight anymore. Until you can't breathe. Peter was fractured. The monster having grown too big, and without any support left to hold him up, the world of drugs dug its claws into him. And it was slowly killing him, like a sickly sweet poison that dulled the pain while quietly feeding on his soul. He was powerless to stop it. He was too tired to stop it. Tony was doing pretty good. Aside from having died, he was doing pretty good. Resurrected from the dead, check. Thanos dead, check. Wife and daughter thriving, check. He'd never expected to get his life back, that was for sure. He was thankful for the second chance. Unfortunately, Tony was quick to discover that the kid had all but lost his own life. It felt like a knife slowly twisting into his chest every time he saw the kid: in agony. Now Tony wasn't exactly the poster-child for a good emotional support figure, but he wasn't about to sit back and let this continue. No matter how hard the kid fought him, no matter how much resistance he was met with, Tony would help the kid. Still, he couldn't help the fear that laced his blood. Tony couldn't help but question whether he would be able to save Peter from the weight of grief. **NO Starker** Triggers Warnings: Substance Use/Abuse Depressive and/or Suicidal Thoughts/Mentions Rape Threats/Mentions Descriptive Blood/Minimal Gore Some Self-Harm Coarse Language Mental Illness (various) This is a heavier story, so please don't read if you're not comfortable with any of the above triggers. Man in a Can: Tony Stark (PTSD Recovery) by Newt_L_Young_
22 parts Complete
Tony's never been the same since New York. And after the events of Infinity War, his anxiety and PTSD have reached an even more crippling and debilitating state. The rest of the avengers are holding on best they can, Peter will be heading off to college after graduation, and Tony... isn't doing so hot either. With his new-found life of freedom from fear, how can he find the time to escape the prison his mind creates? How can he live his life with Pepper, Peter, and the others, coping with the trauma? And how will they fix the multiverse? This is technically a sequel to "Spider-MAN (A Trans Peter Parker Story)", but you don't need to read the first one. This book takes place after the events of Infinity War, and focuses mainly on Tony getting better and the rest of the avengers along the journey. You don't HAVE to read the first one first, but I'd suggest it. Book 1: Spider-MAN: Trans Peter Parker Story Book 2: Man in a Can (PTSD Recovery) Book cover credit: me *I love trying to keep stuff as canon and believable as possible, but there's a few changes: trans Peter, Steve x Bucky, deaf Clint, Lucky aka Pizza Dog, etc.* *Some instances of sexual/romantic content *LGBT *Good spelling/grammar* *Tom Holland as Spider-Man Version *Possible Marvel spoilers?
