Book Two in the Mad Queen Series! Don't continue to read if you don't want spoilers for book one! Once, they were strong and united. Now, they are separated across Vivelle. Broken and betrayed. Rayana's death leaves all the girls devastated and struggling to cope with the monumental tasks still ahead of them. Fallon is being brutally hunted down by her Grandfather. It is her aim to get the Lupine lands to find Illyana. However, her journey will not be as easy as Illyana's was. She is alone in an unfamiliar world with hundreds of miles between her and her destination and an army on her tail. Illyana has won over the Lupine warriors. She has gained their respect and trust. That was the easy part, however. Now, on top of her grief, she has to play a political game with the Lupine hierarchy. Something she struggles with as she comes to term with her sister's death and the guilt that plagues her alongside it. Guilt that forces every bit of joy and freedom she found with the Lupine aside so she can focus on avenging Rayana's death. Shaelyn has turned from a regal princess to a ruthless criminal. She continues to stay with the Knights of the Pheonix. Spending days in the city stealing from royals and assassinating her father's allies. Fueled by a dangerous mix of her past trauma and loss of her sister, the whole city can feel her rage. It takes all her control to keep her new found powers in check so the city doesn't crumble around her. Cordelia does not have the control over Kristoff she once thought. His connection to her cousin has proven difficult to break. Especially since the two share a bastard child together. Something that Kristoff lied about in order to fool Cordelia and the other princesses into thinking they had some sort of victory over their cousin and grandfather. Cordelia is determined, however. She will not allow herself to fall into the same trap by her grandfather again. This time, her sisters are not in her way and there are no more rules.
