The year was 2024, time was still known yet the impending death and infection that drew closer was not. Life was simple for those who were oblivious, living in chaotic and mind-numbing darkness as their technology rules their lives. Mobile phones were the mind and soul of each living citizen within the Metropolis; likes, retweets and the number of friends you had were more important than the protection against what was thought to be fiction but was soon proved to be all too real. The MAO-A virus. A plague that intercepted a dormant gene within those whose minds were weak to manipulation, greed, and death. A gene that once activated, wiped the person that was once known and brings forth a darkness that has one carnal need to quench a blood thirst that drives the mind into a state of insanity. Before the world was divided and peace to the immune was found; loved ones who were consumed by their darkness were often murdered in front of the eyes of those they once held dear. It was a necessary evil they once said, a precaution to ensure that the safety of the greater population. Little did the population know that the loved offspring of the deceased were also branded condemned to the conspiracy that the MAO-A gene was hereditary. A theory that was not proven wrong until decades past and the supremacy of the immune was declared. From that day on any being, adult, or child, that showed signs of being a Mono was condemned to the Pit.
Centuries later, a single woman embarked on a journey where she must question her life's teaching and beliefs to right the wrongs of her father an restore humanity to her country. Will she succeed?

G!p Amber _________________________________________ Tara Carpenter is a young, asthmatic woman who has just graduated from Woodsboro High and has gotten a full ride, all expenses paid, including the apartment, and a scholarship to a college in the Big Apple. Going all the way to New York, especially with her friends who are, coincidentally, going to the same college, Blackmore University, is a good thing for Tara. Now, she's officially getting away from her alcoholic mother. Tara was excited to move into her new apartment, which the scholarship provided, and she was even happier to meet her flatmate. Of course, she WAS happy. But once she officially got to the apartment, her mood shifted because... Amber Freeman is her flatmate... Now, dear readers, I know what you're thinking: "Why is being roommates with Amber Freeman so bad?" Well, let me tell you. Amber was Tara's worst enemy, as Amber bullied the short girl throughout middle school AND the first half of freshman year in high school. She found no relief from it, maybe because she had no happy memories to find solace in, nor anyone to find comfort in. And yet, Amber could be the catalyst to setting a series of events that had been prophesied centuries before, into motion, bringing together three more people – the embodiments of the Emblems – to bring magic back to life. Everyone was evacuated from the home planet over 150 years ago. Our planet was dying, it was only a matter of time before our race was wiped out. We now live on a synthetic planet designed and built by our ancestors who came together from all parts of the globe to devise a plan to save us. We have lived peacefully for over a century.. Until now. Our lives were threatened when a mysterious and deadly virus broke out, killing entire communities at a time. The council says that they have a plan; they said that in order to prevent the death of more innocent people they will test every man, woman, and child for signs of the virus. Any person found to have been infected will be quarantined, the ones who die will be given a proper burial while the ones who survive are deemed carriers and are to be sent to the home planet to prevent further outbreak. I was prepared for the people I know and some I love being taken away for the greater good, but I never would have expected that among the list of people being taken from my community, that I would be one of them.. I survived the quarantine. Now for the survival of my planet I, and the other Carriers must be sent to the home planet. I'm going back to Earth. I see you're awake finally. Let me explain, I'm the overseer, and my name is Hayley, I will guide you on your journey through this time era. Your name is Lexi, you needn't know you second name as it is useless now. That girl you are staring at is you, and you don't know anything because I made sure of that." The voice of which belongs to the person known as Hayley, booms through the room with a posh accent but audibly angry... Why was she angry with me? "As of now people are dying evidently people become depressed and aggressive to one and other. They all used to live in harmony and happiness, that was until the 'things started to raise. The 'things' are as you would call it zombies but of greater skill. They disguise themselves as humans yet they will not hesitate to kill you and eat you. If someone is a 'thing', automatically presume them dead, or at least soon to be dead. It will always take about 2 weeks to become fully changed, hopefully you can chop of that body part in time for the infection to stop. If you can't, put an end to your soon to be painful and horrible turn/death. These beings as I announced only a moment ago, look exactly like a human, two way to tell if they are one or not, their attitude and their eyes. They don't have emotions, only hunger and let me tell you, they will go out of their way to eat you, they will speak but it will sound different... Deformed almost. The eyes are usually the first to become infected, they become slightly red at first, as time progresses so does the intensity of the color red in the eye. The color in their eyes they once possessed, will seem dull, it will seem as if they are unfocused or unfamiliar with their surroundings. That is all I can tell you for the moment Lexi, but know their are people waiting for your arrival, and we are waiting for you to end this suffering race." This is a Zombie Apocalypse AU. ______________________________________ Tara Carpenter loved Amber Freeman. Amber Freeman loved Tara Carpenter. They were childhood best friends, practically attached at the hip. Then, in late 2015, when they were 11, Amber went missing. Everyone looked practically everywhere they could think of, but Amber was never seen again. Her parents didn't seem to care, however. Four years later, in 2019, the apocalypse occurred around what would have been Amber's sophomore year of high school. She would have been 15, just like Tara and most of the others their age. It's now 2023, meaning it's been four years since the apocalypse started and almost a decade since Amber disappeared. The world isn't exactly "safe" anymore; it never truly was, anyway. There are still survivors here and there, but not many, as around a third of humanity has fallen (either killed or turned, usually both). The government, despite its best attempts to control what had happened, fell as well. It was long overdue. Amber is very much "alive". When she went "missing", it turned out her parents had sold her to a lab, and she was turned, in a way. Given that she seems mostly turned, she can easily appear to be completely gone, but she's not. She's still in there. However, it's hard to speak for her due to the infection in her veins, but she's for the most part okay. She wanders around now, often with hordes of fully turned zombies, traveling the devastated world. She has been almost everywhere, in terms of cities and locations. Eventually, she stumbles upon Woodsboro again and finds a few people she thought she'd never see again. And maybe, just maybe, they can help her become human again.Completa
