According to the belief, an invisible red cord is tied around the finger of those that are destined to meet one another in a certain situation as they are "their true love". The string may tangle, contract or stretch but it can never break. The legend of the red thread teaches us, that through a labyrinth of encounters there is a pre-determined and perfect path set out for us by the thread; connecting us on our irrevocable route towards our ultimate destination.

Connected

The Red String of Fate is a well-known concept, the idea that a red string connects you to your soulmate. But what if instead of a string, it was a clock? What if you had a countdown to the exact moment that you would meet your soulmate? In the city of Valmont, everyone has a Counter, a countdown that can only be seen by you and your soulmate. They are not able to be changed or tampered with, a rule set when the Counters were first introduced. Lily has always known this and has excepted it. She has waited 18 years and still has a long way to go before she can meet her match. But when Lily's Counter starts to do the impossible, she can't just sit and wait. She will do anything she can to figure out what is happening to her, or maybe something is happening to her soulmate? She is willing to leave everything she knows behind to find them, to hold on to hope. But then again, if you knew what the loss of hope can do, wouldn't you?
