In this world, Light created their own beings. "angels" and "demons" both made from different kinds of light. But when there is light, darkness is always lurking behind. "Shadows" are the creations of Darkness, they spread fear through the world and possess the weak, even beings of light themselves can be corrupted.
That is why the beings of light decided to put together a defense and offense system called the BLDSES (Beings of Light's Department of Shadow Examination and Studies)

To the outside world, the patients passed away, all orphans. No one to mourn them, no one to blink an eye at their sudden disappearance.
