Virgil Blake moves to Gainesville, Florida at the age of 16 with his father and twin sister after his mother's death. He doesn't believe in a 'happily, ever after'. At least not for himself. Virgil thinks it is stupid because he's seen for himself that not even his parents got to have one, even though they always told him they would while he was a child.
He moves to Florida with the opinion that fairy-tales are stupid - that or he fears them - and that he will never have a 'happily, ever after'. But how wrong he is proven when he bumps into Roman Garcia, Patton Maine, and Logan Connors. He gets whirled up in his very own - down to earth - fairy-tale.

After his caring mother is killed in a horrible car crash that should have killed Virgil as well, his father realizes that Heavens angels are trying to send Virgil back to Hell despite him not doing anything bad. Virgil is sent to his Uncle Patton's place to live and goes to a new school. There he meets an annoying kid who somehow befriends him, but little does he know the kid was sent by his father to protect him. The religious parts of this story is based loosely (very loosely) around christianity. Pairings will be prinxiety, logicality, and demus, if it's not your jam that's fine you don't need to read.
