After leaving home with nothing except her purse, as she tries to escape her mother's constant and agonising apparel, Betty Cooper finds herself in trouble with a drunk man.

Struggling to fight back, she is saved by a mysterious yet intriguing Jughead Jones, also known as the Serpent King.
