I knew, as soon as my eyes landed on her, that she was going to be important in my life. And, I hated myself for it. I let my eyes roam over her. She was a fae, and not just any fae but a dark fae. I wasn't surprised by that, I would be much more surprised if a light fae had made it here. Her skin was pale and silky, a beautiful contrast to her long raven hair cascading down her shoulders and her pitch wings. Though her wings seemed to be as black as possible, you could still see the swirling patterns on them. She was carrying her bag over her shoulder, like everyone else, and she had a small black kitten cradled in her hand. Even from where I stood, about fifty feet away, I could see the chocolate of her eyes. There was something shining in them, a sadness that I suddenly wanted nothing more than to take away for her.
