Cale's job was different, depending on who you asked. According to the IRS, Cale made a passive income from online music streaming - or so said his Schedule SE Form 1040 - but the music was nothing more than AI generated elevator ambience, and his listenership were mostly chatbots programmed to "like and subscribe." But as Vince is sent to Mortbury Academy, flung into the dark underbelly of a world he's never known and told to survive by any means necessary, his life is turned on its head as he's given three rules he must never break.
