Mulder and Scully both moved to Eggland to work for the British government, and then got themselves killed, which was bound to happen sooner or later.
This is the story of the month or two of secret investigations before their deaths.
I am a big fan of the X-Files, but I havnt watched nearly enough of it. Probably less than half, and I havnt seen the film. For that, I am sorry. I hang my head in shame.
This is based on what I remember about it, and what I think they'd most likely be up to now, in 2014.
If it doesn't tie in with the episodes you've seen, just ignore that.

So I just thought of this cool story thing since I been binging murder drones a bit. After he finally escaped, he passed out in an area of a garage, where two humans took him in, after he woke up and explained everything. A special bound between him and the couple blooms when he decides to stay here, slowly recovering. But when discovering that he wasn't the only one on Earth, he starts searching for his friends with the help of his current ones. Join Sonic and his friends, new and old, as they start looking for the Chaos Emeralds and stop Dr Eggman. WARNING: Blood, Gore, Death (for poor Cosmo since she died in the final season), violence and strong language are in this story.

They became fast friends, learning about each other's lives and hunting UFOs together (much to Mulder's delight :)). both of them were contented with what they had until they had feelings for each other that they could not explain.
