Some things don't happen. Some do. And some are completely unexpected. This something was a something like that. And I don't regret a second of it.

Summer 2011. Fifteen year old Emma Brooks goes on a holiday to Italy with her parents and brother. They're going to Puglia, in the south. Her parents have friends there with a little Bed & Breakfast near the sea. It's the third time they go there. It's a relaxing, cosy place, but there usually aren't any tourists apart from retired north-Italians and, with a bit of luck, a single einzelgänger with sporting shoes and safari hats. But this time, a magical creature appears: a teenage boy called Michael Clifford.
