Located in the center of America, Ashland is a picturesque town that is a sanctuary for people heading to or from the west. While working as a church medic to finally start a life without her controlling brother, seventeen year old Aloria soon learns of an eerie town legend of the young man who lives in a mansion overlooking the church. Despite stories of his dark deeds, terrifying personality changes, and the fact that he may be more demonic than human, Aloria isn’t bothered. As she works Aloria has a constant feeling of being watched and she soon starts receiving letters from the man observing her who she dubs: THE WRITER IN ASHLAND. Over a long string of letters, she realizes she wants to know more about her mysterious friend. Aloria’s world explodes as she comes face to face with THE WRITER IN ASHLAND, Luke Whittington, who is the man everyone has been warning her about in the haunting tales of the house on the mountain. Their love would be easy but when the night falls Luke is possessed by something that nobody, not even Luke, thinks is human. As time goes on, Aloria isn’t so sure the Luke she falls for every day is so different from his nighttime self and she has to decide how far she can go for the worsening Luke, all while trying to balance out her present with her past that keeps following her.

Evie was the wild child of the bunch. She was always everywhere and doing everything, all so she could pour it into her writing. Being a writer was the dream she held since she was a child, but to be the best, she needed to make a name for herself. However the local scholarships were not enough to cover the costs of attending her dream school. Evie was determined to find a way to pay for her education, but she was running out of options. That was, until West came back. West was a childhood friend. They used to play together when they were kids, but as they grew older, they drifted apart and lost touch. It's been a couple of years since they had last seen each other, and when West randomly needed to stay at Evie's house for a few weeks, she wasn't sure what to expect. They each needed a plan to get what they wanted, and they each had what the other needed. It seemed like a win-win situation for both of them. Or so they thought that is until a an old fling reappears that could jeopardizes their deal. Will they be able to keep love out of this story?
