Princess Aethelswith, the sister to the newly crowned King Alfred is kidnapped by Vikings. The intent is to hold her as incentive during negations for land. Prince Ivar, the head of the Great Heathen Army is blindsided by his own reaction to this Christian princess. This is the story of a young man and a young woman, enemies to the other, finding an uncertain, unfamiliar and unlikely bond.

Part 2 to the Ease The Dawn series. Ivar is King of Kattegat. Aethelswith struggles to find her place among strangers in a foreign land. Confronted by her Christian ties and an unbroken marriage, she must find her way and navigate the storm of a dominating lover surrounded by wolves in sheep's clothing.

Part 3 to Ease The Dawn is an alternate ending to Part 1 which picks up at the point in time of Ivars accident on the lake. A different story where their intimacy begins while still in camp. Some scenes have similar elements but with a very different outcome.
