Meadow Blackbrook is the personal maid of King Arthur Pendragon and Queen Gwenevere of Camelot, and she hates the attention that she is suddenly getting from Sir Gawain and Sir Mordred, two Knights of the Roundtable. Rumors of invading Saxons and the rise of Morgana Pendragon fill the kingdom of Camelot, and Meadow finds herself in the middle of the mess when she catches a strange figure sneaking out of the royal couple's chamber with the scabbard of Excalibur. The scabbard is rumored to protect the bearer from any physical harm in battle, and with the upcoming war between Arthur and Morgana, Arthur's life is in grave danger without the scabbard. But there is a problem: someone close to the King betrayed him, so who can he truly trust, and will Meadow, Mordred, and Gawain be able to retrieve the scabbard before it's too late?
