What if? The phrase is always there, whether we are aware or not. Sitting in the back of our minds, watching our suffering as a movie. 

What if odin had loved loki? What if he cared? What if Thor had taken notice? What if Frigga had gathered the courage to fight for him?
What if what if what if. 

We cannot dwell on what if. We can only dwell on what is. 

(I'm going to be using human years in this story to make it easier on everyone. Typing out 1037 to translate to the physical human equivalent of 17 years would be exausting, especially for this story. Thor is human 5 years older than Loki).
