A short story inspired by the song 'Rainy Day' by Coldplay. It's not like an interpretation, but more of something I thought of when I listened to the song. Hope you like it :) I really enjoyed writing this. It was a good way to get rid of some writer's block!

When I met him on a rainy afternoon the air smelt like gardenias. My black oxford pumps were soaked from accidentally stepping on a puddle, and the tiny yellow umbrella I held up barely saved me from the chilly rain. When I met him on a rainy afternoon, the sky was pink and blue. I was starving and almost craving to smell the stuffy scent of my closed up home's small living room. When I met him on a rainy afternoon, his son held my feet out of the blue and called me 'mum'. He rushed out of the restaurant only seconds later, his cheeks a pale flushed hue. When I met him one day on a rainy afternoon, he looked up into my eyes and apologized. The short stories that tie everything together tell about two people getting together and were the inspiration for the song "Something To Tell You" by HAIM. Inspired by my personal experiences, but also about all relationships in some way. I wanted to create something that was a lot more inclusive. Since everyone has had their first love, but for the majority of us, it didn't last.

Now a (completed) anthology of short stories, flash fiction, and hopefully quality writing. Expect to find a bereaved mother dealing with an post-apocalyptic wasteland, a hair-raising fairytale, two professional bankrobbers, the original Rick-Roller, and maybe a rubber chicken or two.
