Mali is royal. Pure, untainted. Free of the clutches of the madness that can only be referred to as "magic." Except.... she isn't. Mali is contaminated, and anyone who knows would throw her to the wolves. So, she escapes to the wilderness. But Mali can't run forever, and what started as a search for a princess becomes a ethnic cleansing, burning the land and anyone who dares practice the arcane. Eventually, Mali must face her beginnings- however tangled they may be.
