The Veil Hunter

Doris Ruth Clipton is not your average human. For one, she hunts the creatures who hunt helpless Londoners. Two, she is a grade A cynic, and enjoys the darker things in life. And three, her uncle is quite eccentric, and always stays below the house in their basement working in his Alchemy Lab. She is glad for her life. Who wants to go out and socialize with those bumbling bimbos anyways? Unfortunately, when her uncle needs an important ingredient in a protection spell against the bombs, she becomes trapped in the Veil, with her "friend" Adrion. Lucky for her, the Veil is on her side. Unlucky for her, the ingredient she is hunting is one of the most powerful of all the Creatures. On the Okean scale, this creature would be past the maximum power limit.
