A Number of Breaths

Evangelia Walker has always had an adventurous spirit, a creative nature, and a unusual, yet astonishing outlook on life. She always has light in her eyes, a crooked smile on her face, and some loopy idea she's busting to try out. But, when Evangelia reaches her Junior year of high school, everything begins to fall apart. Her mother is diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, she discovers that her best friend since kindergarten is pregnant, and her second best friend proclaims his undying (and not to mention unreciprocated) love for her. As her once-perfect life crumbles, Evangelia learns to stay true to herself, even when she stands alone.
