The Genie and the Ordinary Boy by Summer Cheng

In this story, there is a genie, Marinette. She was not always a genie though. It seems she was cursed so that she could not find love by having to spend the rest of her days since age 10 as a genie. After all, everyone knows the rules, Genies can't fall in love, or can they?

Also, there is an ordinary boy, Adrien who longs for companionship, and love. He is lonesome as both his parents are dead. He feels as there is no one else out there for him. He desires to have many dreams or wishes met. Will he ever find what he longs for most?
Natalie is Adrien's Nanny who helped take good care of him as his mother died and continued to do so after his father died. Now, she sees herself as the woman who takes care of the young man she refers to as "the son I never had."
