Tuure Raskinen, star goaltender for the Toronto Maple Leafs, loved hockey since the first step he took on the ice. The goaltender was raised in the city of Dubrovnik in Croatia after his family moved from Savonlinna, Finland, when Tuure was three. However, life threw some obstacles at Tuure that many hockey players don't need to encounter. In 1996, at the age of nine, Tuure was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, a condition on the autism spectrum. Then, three years later, he got very ill and fainted at school. He was later diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. The goaltender did not let this deter him at all. He made it to Finland's top league, SM-Liiga, and was drafted to the NHL's Boston Bruins from there. He was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs a year later and immediately got to work on practicing. But life was not done tossing Tuure around yet. At the age of 30, his ex-girlfriend Anja wrote a letter to him that said she was dying of cervical cancer. She also had an 11-year-old daughter, meaning Tuure unknowingly became a father at 19. Tuure, who decided to voluntarily remain single after breaking up with Anja, then develops sudden romantic feelings for Alexej Hasek, a free agent arriving from the New York Islanders and his new backup goalie, in 2018. How will he handle falling in love with someone after twelve years of not dating anyone? Tuure has a lot of issues to deal with in his chaotic life. Will he keep them under control while simultaneously leading his Maple Leafs to glory? ~WORK IN PROGRESS~
