It's been five years since the snap. Five years since Thanos decimated half the universe. Attempting to get back some sort of normality, Steve and Freya try to live their lives and move on the best they can. That is until a long lost teammate, who was presumed dead, makes them rethink everything. Gathering the broken Avengers, they suddenly have to navigate the uncharted waters of time and space with the new found hope of bringing back everything that was lost. A new hope that drives them to get their family back. Whatever it takes.

Being the only child of Tony Stark, Freya was kept out of the spotlight so that she might live a semi-normal life. Unfortunately, how she became Tony Stark's daughter is the main reason why she will never have anything near a semi-normal life. Having been sent to Earth at age seven for her own safety by an unknown source, she has no memory of her life before she landed on Midgard. Tony, accompanied by Happy, happened to be the one who found her and immediately felt like it was his responsibility to take care of her. So, he adopts her and loves her like she's his own flesh and blood. Tony watches her grow into a strong, beautiful, fierce woman, whose intelligence might even surpass his own. If magically appearing in a beam of light from space wasn't crazy enough, Freya eventually began to develop abilities as she got older. The physical manifestation of specific abilities ended up being silver in color. Resulting in Tony giving her the nickname "Mercury." Which was quickly shortened to "Merky." Tony always hoped she would lead a normal life after reaching adulthood. From his perspective, she was. Instead, she was actually recruited into S.H.I.E.L.D. not long after her sixteenth birthday by Nick Fury. Who had been watching her from a distance for nine long years. She's transformed into a ruthless assassin and becomes a force to be reckoned with. Unbreakable bonds with two fellow teammates are also forged in the process. But, what will happen when a series of unimaginable events reveals her origin and gruesome past? Who will she trust? He thought things we're going good, but what happens when he meets a certain redhead S.H.I.E.L.D. agent that excepts him for who he is? Sequel to Punching Bag! My heart is beating about as fast as I'm spinning the two rings around my finger. I stare out the jet windows at the changing landscape, so different from where I just was. I pause and look down at the rings with nostalgia staining my tongue. A smile curves my lips up when I fiddle with the bottom shining silver band with the little A on it and then the little spider on the other. "You need to calm down. Even I can hear your heartbeat." Natasha tells me calmly as she flies. A moment passes with her searching jade eyes on mine before I sigh. "It's been three months," I tell her green eyes as she suppresses a smile. "I've been gone longer. This was your chance to stretch your legs, Jo, and you did extremely well." She reassures me. "What's bothering you?" Natasha pushes slightly, knowing I'm not telling her something. My eyes roll. "Are you forgetting I didn't exactly have permission to leave? And how adamant everyone was that I shouldn't have?" She raises an eyebrow. "Everyone?" She repeats and I deflate slightly in surrender. She was on my side, mostly. "You're over eighteen and legally allowed to make your own decisions. The team has no hold on you, Jo." I fix her with an incredulous glare and her lips twitch. "Other than affection." Sighing, I press my lips together. "Right. And that has no hold on me." It's been three years since the events in Punching Bag and three months since Jo left to be on her own. Returning back to the facility has its own set of problems though. After their third, and hopefully final encounter with Thanos, the reunited Avengers are left to pick up the pieces of the last five years and attempt to move on with their lives. Even with the giant hole left behind by the loss of Tony and Vision, they're still met with the joy that Natasha's return brings. With Sam and Bucky temporarily living with Freya and Steve, who are excitedly expecting twins, things seem like they're slowly returning to a new normal. But Freya can't seem to shake an uneasy feeling after her brief, but nearly violent confrontation with Wanda. The feeling isn't only putting her on edge, but it carries a darkness with it as well. Not long after Wanda leaves, something causes Freya to have an episode with her powers. But instead of her powers lashing out, they're forced to contain an out of control Freya in order to protect the others. Once it passes, new revelations begin to tie everything back to Wanda and her unknown activities. Freya worries for the younger woman and hopes she didn't make a mistake by encouraging her to take time for herself. However, that worry and hope quickly dissolves into fear and guilt when an old friend reaches out for help with a situation only Freya might understand. Without hesitation, Freya, Steve, Sam and Bucky rush to aid the contact. Only to come face to face with something so bizarre and terrifying, even Freya has the urge to stay away. It's been almost two years since the defeat of Thanos & the effects of the snap was successfully reversed. The world has slowly picked up the pieces & everyone worked hard to resume their lives right off where the Decimation left them hanging. Some succeeded, as easily as pressing the play button after putting a movie on a long pause, while some were never the same again despite regaining everything and everyone they have lost. The Avengers were the lucky ones. Lucky enough to go back to their normal or fortunate enough to be given a fresh start. Tony & Pepper got married & jetted off in a private island to finally start their long overdue family life. Sam moved back to D.C & resumed his work at the VA. Rhodey continued working as a military consultant & Wakanda has never been more occupied as it became the number one tourist spot in less then a year. Clint went back to retirement tugging Wanda along with him to his farm where Laura welcomed her with open arms. Thor & Bruce were off-planet helping the remaining Asgardians settle on a new home. Fury rebuilt his super spy network with Maria overseeing operations at the Avengers Facility, recruiting, training a new breed of response team. And Steve finally got Bucky back & they have spent the past year back in Brooklyn, traveling the world once in a while & even participating in USO tours and fairs. Everyone tried to move on and rightly so because at the end of the day, that's pretty much what's expected of everyone after any tragedy. Natasha, too has moved on. The only problem is, she chose to move on alone. * I don't own any of these characters or wish to infringe on any copy or intellectual rights. I'm just someone who has a deep love for the MCU that I can't help but try to keep the story going, keep these characters alive in more adventures, especially with 'endgame' hovering, looming over us.*
