Pero esto no le paró. Construyó una máquina del tiempo, una nave a la que llamó "la Wave Rider". Y tomó la apariencia de Rip Hunter. Él había oído montones de historias sobre él a las Leyendas, así que se convirtió en el capitán de la Wave Rider con el objetivo de cambiar pequeños momentos cotidianos en la Historia para así salvar a su familia y reunió a las Leyendas, escondiéndoles sus verdaderas intenciones. Varios meses después, Caitlin apareció de repente en la nave.
