"The faint smell of rain and evergreen trees lingered in the fresh air. I took in a deep breath and turned to walk towards the carriages that take you to the school. However, I was met by a familiar face.
"Hello Miss Lestin." There he stood....hovering over me with those beautiful dark eyes. He usually never talks to the students outside of class, but last year he started interacting with me more. One night as I was in detention for being late to class, I could have sworn he leaned in to kiss me. I was helping him grade papers at his desk. Our only sources of light were a couple of dimly lit candles. I blame it on the ambiance of the room for my misunderstanding. When he leaned in I froze. His hand raised to touch my cheek but as I leaned in he huffed and pulled away. Apparently, he was actually wiping ink off of my face. After that embarrassing encounter, I decided to hide my feelings for him. "

His only reprieve was the knowledge that one day Lily's daughter would return to his world and he would be able to keep a close eye on her because he intended to right his wrongs with his one true love. Or so he thought. He immediately hated the girl with a passion and decided quite quickly that he would keep his distance and only interfere if her life was in imminent danger.
