Evrin and his twelve year old brother Liam watch as their parents are murdered before their eyes. Three months later the boys are captured and seperated, forced to work in a prison mine with rotten food, infected water, and almost no sleep, suffering beatings at the slightest infraction. Years after his escape, Evrin writes this journal of his experiences in hopes of explaining his actions to Liam. Explaining that everything he has done has been to protect him.
