Soral never thought his life would be that interesting, yes, he was a merchant and a hunter, that alone made him more interesting than others, but that was not it. He never imagined that his life would become even more dangerous and full of adventure. Nor did he expect his father dying and having to care for his nine year old cousin.
As if it wasn't enough, they have to deal with things they only heard of in stories and myths, all while uncovering the truth of the world as they knew it.

"Upstairs!" I hear a yell and pounding footsteps. I crawl out of the window until I'm hanging from my hands. I take a breath. I let go. ~ Living in a small town with a single mother, Mia Glenn never expected anything special to come of her life. She never thought she would go on an adventure as harrowing as the stories she read. Until one day she narrowly avoids being kidnapped, discovering in the same day a whole new universe that she is supposedly a part of. As she navigates the elven world of Earthe with the help of a particularly attractive elf boy, she learns secrets about her identity and her father's, of whom she believed had ditched her and her mom at an early age. Soon Mia discovers that peace isn't as easy as it seems, and while Earthe may be beautiful, there are dark parts that are creeping back to the light. Even in a world of perfect beings such as elves, lies can be spun as precisely as an arrow can pierce a target, and evil can sneak up on you when you least expect it. Mia is used to reading about this kind of stuff, not living it. Safe to say she finds herself in one hell of an adventure. - - TW: if you need a tw for fighting, violence, weapons, blood, death, etc. I would read with caution (I don't get into any gory details, but there are scenes w/ this) I will put tw's for the more violent scenes.Complete

Getting to travel across the sea seemed like a dream come true to Simon and Jacob. It was quite the respite from the nightmarish brutalities of the wizards who had tormented them over the years at home. Respite - and for the slight price of following a newly-made friend to his homeland, where Simon could build and invent as he saw fit. There were, of course, some things the good merchant failed to mention, such as the creatures that dwell beneath the waves, and in the forests they have to pass through. Also, that he may have exaggerated how welcome they would be in Taleor. And the current success of their comrades' inventions and guild in a city where magic swims through every facet of life. And where they would be living. And the war brewing to the south. Still, it wasn't as bad as it could've been. Really, it was...actually quite nice. Things have a way of changing quickly, however, and not always for the better...Complete

Guns, revenge and buildings to bomb, what could go wrong? ✮ He came in, gun held out in front of him in one hand while the other was resting on his hip where a sharp dagger gleamed in the light. "Come on out little girl, why not make this easier for both of us. The agency you ran away from just want to have a little talk, that's all." She scoffed internally. Yeah right. Then the footsteps ceased. She peeked to the right, then to the left. Neither direction showed any sign of the intruder. She looked up in front of her and gasped, the glint of steel and smell of death as overwhelming as it was adrenaline inducing, exciting. "Boo." ✮ Murder, accidents, assassinations. Call it what you will, it's all the same, all has the same life breaking, mind shattering consequences - be it for the victim or the bystander. It had shaped Alex in a way no one should be. Broken down and rebuilt into the perfect soldier, one who had the power to change the world, to fight battles that would either make or break the carefully constructed vision we all live in. The only small, minute, really unimportant detail - it's pretty hard to get into a government classified site when you're 15 years old and have a rag-tag team of double-crossing back-stabbers behind you. Not to mention the threat of a world war and ghost hanging above your head. Armed with sarcasm, wit, and a hell of a lot of aggressive intentions, it won't be too long till a sticky situation is all that's ahead of you. Sometimes, running head-first into a situation isn't the best idea. Instead, you gotta play a game. A deadly game where either you have all the pieces on the board, or you have nothing.
