Helen Flammia spent the majority of her life aiming for perfection, to earn her family's respect and fit into the society she was born into. She was taught to keep her mouth and eyes shut, to do as she was told and never object against her parents beliefs, it didn't matter if she believed them or not, she had to do so in order to survive this world.
Everything falls apart once tragedy hits close to her heart and she loses every sense of the meaning of family. Tragic and recent events force her to run from all she's ever known, into the arms of an old friend.
Will Helen surrender to what she believes it's her unquestionable destiny or will she place her faith in a boy she barely knows?
