The unexplained death of Andi's uncle brings her and her family to the town of Water's Edge to care for Andi's six year old cousin, Marisol, who saw her father die but refuses to speak about it.

At first glance, fishing boats and booze seem to be the only things the small seaside town has to offer, and then murder gets added to the list. People are dying in Water's Edge and all of them have the tell-tale marks found on her uncle. It all seems very mysterious, then Andi meets the Clairfields. The Clairfields soon introduce the idea to Andi that there are things of dark legends and her uncle may have been the victim of one.
