On the 23d of May 10-year old Hunter Leaf's mother left without a word nor explanation, and his father told him he hated him. One year later they moved to Australia. The first person he saw was beautiful, flawless, carefree Moon Taylor. As soon as he saw her he hated her, and yet, for some reason, she never left him alone for the next 5 years. No matter how many times he told her he hated her didn't seem to matter. He hated her with a passion. He would never help her in any way. Until there is a horrible accident and the only person who will be able to get Moon through it is Hunter.
Everyone has their flaws, their scars, their secrets in this world of hate and love, war and hope, and lies and truth.
But maybe, just maybe, he can learn to forgive, to find hope, to have faith, to know love and to see this world and it's inhabitant's in a new light. And to find out who Moon really is, beneath her beautiful.

She scowls. He smiles. She glowers. He laughs. She's cold. He's open. She hides with hate. He hides with jokes. Polar opposites. That doesn't stop them from loving each other. Jade Skai hated that quote with all her heart. Partly, because it was true. Pain was the best teacher. Fear coming in halfway. What was worse? When pain decided to side with fear and work together. She had felt both. Multiple times. And the feeling sucked. Jade was not your normal happy sunshiny girl. No. She was cold, having a snappy tongue and a heartless nature. That was her father's fault. Her mother had died when Jade was born. And it tore her father apart. He now sat at home. Drinking alcohol anytime she saw him. To add to the trauma, her father also beat her. Almost every night. For years since she turned ten. She was a very troubled girl. It wasn't her fault.

Addy and Nelly were too young even if they did meet someone, they wouldn't be allowed to finish their mating. When da came back from changing Samantha's diaper he switched girls so that Libby could get her own diaper checked. Samantha, such a cutie had already lost her mother and father to a bunch of hate mongering humans. I knew that they still existed, but I didn't realize they still killed our kind. The Broken Girl
... I didn't know what to do... so I did nothing. There I was, sprawled onto the ground. Just looking at the sky. Wishing... praying... pleading that it would lift me up and take me far away. I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace. Sometimes you don't need to be the smartest, or the fastest, but you do need to be wisest.
