TJ2109 has lived in the walled, remote city of Dema since he was born. Though the city's laws are strict, his relationship with the city's rulers, The Nine Bishops of Bourbaki's City (or The Niners for short), has given him a bit more freedom than your average Dema citizen. Not much, but a bit. But it wasn't enough.

Sure, he thought he was happy going through the daily motions in Dema but he'd always had this want to know what lay beyond the city's walls. He was never sure why though... he was happy in Dema. Why would he want to know anything beyond himself, the Bishops and the Demarians? He was happy!

At least he wants to be. But a stranger in a laptop is going to show him why he should be thinking about the outside, and why he should consider getting ready to leave the walls.

Tyler joseph is a quiet 16 year old boy living alone in small apartment. He was homeschooled up until he turned 15 when his family was tragically killed in a car crash while he was attending piano practice. Since then he'd pretty much been living off of welfare and his parents life insurance, getting by penny by penny and barely leaving the small enclosure. He'd become extremely depressed since the accident. His very few friends who he once yearned to see constantly, were barely ever around anymore. And by now he'd quit all schooling and gave up with it all. He was done with this life. Josh dun is a 16 year old boy who'd been living away from home since he was 14 when his parents kicked him out. They didn't have enough money to support him and themselves. But he was just a kid with a dead end minimum wage job. And eventually it wasn't enough. He got fired for showing up late on his fifteenth birthday. With no where else to turn, he went into prostitution. Selling the only thing he had left so he'd have a place to call home. He had hit rock bottom. But still he kept a positive attitude and fought through the negative thoughts and horrible events that clouded his young life. Today was Tyler's birthday and he was annoyed as much as he was surprised to hear his cell phone ring loudly at 12 am beside him on his nightstand.He briskly picked up to hear one of his old friends on the phone and more voices he recognized in the background. He was bombarded by voices all sending the same message: happy birthday, be ready by 6 because we're all coming over. The line went down and Tyler groaned as he showered, got dressed, and then binge watched pretty little liers till there was a knock at the door. He got up and opened it with a slightly annoyed glance as he noticed an unfamiliar face. "Who's that?" he muttered inviting everyone in one by one. Even the purple haired fellow he didn't quite know yet. "Him? Oh, hes part of your present. He's a prostitite." he snickered.

He sees others around him who are struggling too, and he wants to help them. But he can't. He can't even seem to help himself. He keeps thinking he sees his best fren, Josh, but he's still not sure if its really him or if the city has finally driven him insane. His life now is nothing but fear. And there doesn't seem to be a way to fix that. Maybe there is...but maybe there isn't. The thing is, he's too afraid to find out. Fear is how they control you. The bishops. They see everything you do. And they want to destroy you. So don't bother fighting. They'll come for you. They'll come for you when you least expect it. Possible trigger warning: self-harm/suicide. This story is about overcoming that and overcoming depression. But it might be triggering to some readers. I'll add trigger warnings to those parts.
